My father and I are very alike. We both like to feel special and be showered with gifts. So last year for Father’s Day, I took my parents out for dinner. I decided to buy my dad flowers (since he always gets jealous of how my mom only gets flowers). I also gave him a six-month prepaid membership to Gold’s Gym (to keep the old heart pumping) as well as the newest Armani cologne (my dad has a collection of colognes). The last thing I got him was a $250 gift certificate to Macy’s. --Saira Naqui, IT

Usually my family and I do the same thing every Father's Day. Although it might sound corny, we treat dad like its Father's Day everyday. However, when the real day arrives, it's ALL about who says Happy Father's day first. So at five in the morning, we wake up and wish dad a Happy Father's Day right away. Then, the whole family eats and watches TV together (I bite the bullet and watch Zee TV). Indian Food and Satellite TV.....$50 Keeping it cheap and acting like Indians...priceless. --Atul Patel, Aeronautic Engineer

Last Father's Day, I wanted to do something active and interesting because that’s what my dad likes. I planned to go to the Planetarium and then go out to dinner. I figured it would be nice to take my Dad to see a movie on stars and supernovas and check out interesting exhibits. I thought my idea was pretty unique, so I suggested it to a good friend of mine. Little did I know that my Dad and I would be running into my friend and his father everywhere we went that day including the nearby Indian restaurant I took my dad to later that evening. --Preeti.
