Kal Penn, the actor best known for his lead in the highly popular Harold and Kumar movies, will be hosting primtetime coverage of the Democratic National Convention, Thursday, September 6th. This is the night that Obama will receive and accept his second nomination to the White House. Penn will also speak on Tuesday, Sept 4th with First Lady Michelle Obama.
Long known as an Obama supporter and also a former White House staffer, Kal Penn looks like he was personally chosen by Obama if the video below has anything to do with it. The speech will be broadcast live via webcast and, according to the Obama campaign, will include interviews with a number of pop-sulture celebrities including Marc Anthony, Aisha Tyler, Olivia Wilde, Elizabeth Banks, Fran Drescher, Zach Braff and Alexis Bledel.
