The Kurtee It used to be super cool to wear a kurtee a few years ago, but as the trend passed, many of us South Asian women still find our closets full of the shirt in one length or another. Shake it up a little by nixing the shalwars and mixing it up with some skinny jeans or leggings. Add a few accessories and your Friday nights are going to feel fabulous!

Re-Length your Lehnga Granted lehngas are not cheap, but really, how many times are you going to wear the same outfit to again? A great way to update an out-dated lehnga is to have the waist taken up so that the flare hits at your knee. Pair with a corset, t-shirt or a men’s style white shirt, and you’ve got a seriously sexy look going on!
For stylish mothers, the excess fabric in the lehnga can be reworked into a pair of capris for Mom and a short dress for her baby girl.

Cholis and Sari Blouses Make use of all those cholis and sari blouses by matching them up with other items in your wardrobe. For example, layer a choli or sari blouse over a crisp white cotton shirt for a jacket or vest effect. If your choli or blouse seems old-fashioned, have a tailor remove the bulky sleeves and add them as patches, pockets or cuffs to an old pair of faded jeans.

Dupattas and Scarves Add these wonderful yards of fabric as accessories to almost any outfit. Dress up a little black dress or wrap them around your neck over a plain Tee. Even better, have a tailor convert them into a simple shift or baby doll dress.
