New York City (June 28, 2013): The Grand Ballroom of The Plaza Hotel was the backdrop for the launch of Shazya Entertainment by Dr. Shazya Wanadna. The newly formed company’s first event is the launch of the Bollywood movie, Once Upon a Time In Mumbai Dobara (OUATIMD) starring Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonali Bendre. The film is directed by Milan Luthra and produced by the team, Balaji Motion Pictures, who brought The Dirty Picture, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and now, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara (the sequel). The movie is written by Rajat Aroraa, and the music is by Pritam.
Rich and powerful Shoiab (Kumar) often visits his humble beginnings in Mumbai where he chances upon a cart race. Enthralled by the winner Aslam (Khan), Shoaib takes him under his tutelage. As the movie unfolds, Shoaib meets an aspiring actress Jasmeen (Sinha) and falls in love with her as does, coincidentally, Aslam. As Shoiab wines and dines Jasmeen, Aslam shows her the simpler things in life. An unexpected attack on the actress’s life brings this love triangle to a dramatic conclusion.
Present at the launch were Akshay Kumar and Milan Luthra who spoke in depth about the upcoming film and surrounding topics.
“Bad is the new good,” said Kumar in response to a question from the press. He was describing what attracted him to the role and why it was different.
When asked about his extended stay recently in New York City, Kumar replied, “I love taking cab rides, I enjoy getting to know the drivers, especially the Indian ones, as they try to identify me from their rearview mirror.” He related quite a humorous story of one taxi driver who actually ran out of his taxi, leaving it in the middle of the street, to offer Kumar a ride.
Kumar was also asked what is the secret to living a happy and healthy life, to which he responded, “Go to bed every night having helped someone, just one person, and always respect your parents. ”
Attention then turned to Luthra and he was asked what it was like working with Kumar, to which he replied, “He would remove his moustache during breaks in the scenes and be his joking self,” a reference to Kumar’s easy-going personality. “Always prepared and punctual, Akshay is always a pleasure to work with,” Luthra stated.
The director pointed out that the majority of the action-packed movie is shot in Oman, and with its diverse genres, action-packed sequences and gangster-like appeal, OUATIMD will entertain all different ages.
ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI DOBARA will release worldwide August 15th, 2013.
